Dr. Sudheer Ambekar is in-charge of the Division of Cerebrovascular Surgery at the Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre, one of the premier programs in the nation for comprehensive cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgery.

Dr. Ambekar obtained his medical degree from JIPMER, Pondicherry, where he was awarded the institute gold medal in Pediatrics and Orthopedics. He completed his residency in neurological surgery at the prestigious National Institute of Mental Health And Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore, followed by fellowships in Skull- base surgery and interventional neuroradiology at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, Shreveport and the University of Miami respectively.

Dr. Ambekar is a member of many national and international societies such as the Neurological Society of India, American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the American Heart Association. He has published over 80 peer-reviewed articles in national and international journals. He is also a reviewer for Neurology India and World Neurosurgery.

Dr. Ambekar has extensively worked on intracranial aneurysms and the role of computational fluid hemodynamics in determining the risk of rupture in intracranial aneurysms. His ongoing research involves determining the role of inflammation in intracranial aneurysms.
